Economic growth in a country can lead to deterioration in terms of trade.
Edgeworth in 1958; argued that deterioration in terms of foreign trade would
have a welfare-reducing effect and presented the impoverishing growth
thesis. In this study; Growth in terms of concepts impoverish Turkey were
examined. The impoverishing growth since when has that been explained in
the sectors in Turkey and investigate the presence and effects of
impoverishing growth. Working Umeda occasionally shows the existence of
impoverishing growth in Turkey

Bir ülkede ekonomik büyüme, dış ticaret hadlerinin bozulmasına sebep
olabilmektedir. 1958 yılında Edgeworth; dış ticaret hadlerinde bozulmaların
refah düşürücü bir etki gerçekleştireceğini savunarak, yoksullaştıran büyüme
tezini sunmuştur. Bu çalışmada; Türkiye açısından yoksullaştıran büyüme
kavramı incelenmiştir. Yoksullaştıran büyümenin Türkiye’de ne zamandan
beri var olduğu ve sektörlerde yoksullaştıran büyümenin varlığı ve etkilerini
inceleyip açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada zaman zaman Türkiye’de
yoksullaştıran büyümenin varlığı görülmektedir.
