The aim of this study is to introduce the general frame of the entrepreneurial behaviours and its context in the
classical age of Ottoman Empire. For this reason, shaping policies, institutions and practices that affect the the ecology
of the entrepreneurial activities have been examined. With macro factors like Ottoman land system, structure of its
community, order of the economy, state’s point of view about the economy and the trade, and also how the personal
entrepreneurial values and the business culture are formed in micro level have been reviewed. The economic order and
the community structure formed by the state are created the conditions of entrepreneurship in the Ottoman Empire. In
addition, Ottoman entrepreneurs are exhibited heterogeneity. According to the findings, Ottoman entrepreneurs
typology, exposed different economic, social and legal regulations is generated and explained.
