2017 Use of Submerged Arc Welding Technique in Iron & Steel Industry for Coating

— In this study, submerged arc welding (SAW) method is applied for coating. Experimental results showed that Stellite-6 coating material was suitable for shafts and bearings. Stellite-6 materials can lead to improving the surface features of the shafts used in iron and steel plants. Also Stellite-6 coating materials have good resistance to impact. After coating of the shafts by using Stellite-6 materials, it was observed that the hardness of the shafts increases nearly 250 pct. Coating and machining operations of the used shafts is more economical in iron and steel plants.

2017 Using a Nickel Coated Mold Wall in Continuous Casting Machine

In continuous casting process, avoiding crack formation is very important for the producers. This paper examines the effect of nickel-coated mold wall upon the cracks during casting of steel. Casting products are analyzed in this study and the test reveals nickel coating is the best possible output on the basis of slab quality. Moreover, molds coated by nickel have more service life than copper based molds.

2014 YERİNDE İŞLEME UYGULAMALARI İÇİN PORTATİF TİP FREZE TEZGAHI DİZAYNI VE ANALİZİ - DESIGN AND ANALYZES OF PORTABLE MILLING MACHINE FOR IN PLACE MACHINIG APPLICATIONS

Yerinden sökülerek sabit tezgah üzerine bağlanabilme imkanı olmayan büyük ekipmanların ve makinaların aşınan ve kırılan parçalarının tadilatı, hava aracı gövdelerinin montaj sırasında yapılması gereken delik delme ve frezeleme gibi işlemleri için, taşınabilme ve ayarlama esnekliğine sahip, ekipman veya parça üzerine kurularak işleme yapmaya imkan veren portatif tezgahlar kullanılmak zorundadır. Bu tür tezgahlar işleme yapılacak yerin özelliklerine göre tasarlanarak imal edilir ve genelde aynı tip uygulamalar için kullanılır. Bu çalışmamızda demir-çelik tesislerinde haddeleme işleminin yapıldığı hadde gövdesinin aşınan yüzeylerinin tashih işleminin yapılabilmesi amacına yönelik 3-eksenli portatif freze tezgahı dizayn edilmiş, mukavemet analizleri yapılmıştır. Dizayn için Solid Edge programı, analiz çalışmaları için Ansys programı kullanılmıştır. Dizaynın tamamlanıp modelin elde edilmesinden sonra tezgahın doğal frekansı teorik olarak hesaplanmış, mukavemet analizleri yapılarak elde edilen sonuçlar yorumlanmıştır. Dizayn edilen cihaz endüstride başarı ile çalışmaktadır. Portable milling machines that can be movable and adjustable must be used by locating it over the equipment or part for the maintanance applications of the worn parts of big equipments and machines, also for the drilling and milling processes of the aerospace vehicles that should be done during the assembly process. That type of portable machines are designed by taking into account of properties of places to be machined and used generally for the same type of application. In this study 3 axis portable milling machine was designed and analyzed for machining of worn surfaces of the mill stand that is used for the rolling of the sheet metals. Solid Edge design program was used for design works and Ansys was used for analyze works. After finishing of the desing works the natural frequence of the machine was calculated theoretically, strength analyzes were done and the results were interpreted. Designed machine is working with success in the industry.
