Additive manufacturing expected to have a market share of 20 billion dollars in 2020 presents unique
design freedom which is not possible with other manufacturing methods. Hence, it’s observed that the
applications of titanium and aluminium alloy materials on cellular structures catch more attention day
by day because of having low-weight as a result of combining titanium alloy or aluminium alloy and
cellular design. In this study, modal analysis of titanium alloy and aluminium alloy hybrid beams in
various cellular design like honeycomb with different thickness was conducted by using finite element
method (FEM) in order to obtain natural frequencies of these hybrid beams. Furthermore, the shape of
beams and displacement vector sum results were recorded during 10 modes in Block Lanczos method
in Ansys Apdl modal analysis mode. In conclusion, the effect of rib thickness on vibrational behaviour
of titanium alloy and aluminium alloy hybrid beams was reported.
