Evaluation of The Narrations About How Abdallāh İbn Saʿd İbn Abī Sarḥ Distorted the Quran
Abstractİbn Abī Sarḥ who was one of the first writers of the Quran in Mecca has very interesting personality. He became a muslim two times and an apostate once in his life. In some sources, there are some narrations how he distorted the Quran. Even in these narrations, it has been claimed that he gave the Messenger of Allah some advice about how to write a number of the verses, and the Messenger of Allah confirmed what he did about the revelations, and he wrote whatever he wants as revelation. In some narrations, it was narrated that ibn Abī Sarḥ said something like that I became a Messenger of Allah. Revelation is coming to me!.. This article has been written in order to make isnad and text criticism of the regarding narrations. In order to be able to make a right decision about theses narrations, all variants and texts belonging to the Islamic studies have been tried to be taken within the integrality. In the article, it has been searched when these narrations appeared, and for which purpose they were narrated. In addition, it is questioned that these narrations which are meant the Quranic verses were interfered by an individual are contrary to the Quran.
