Yahya Kemal And Turkish Music

Abstract

Yahyâ Kemâl is one of the important personage of Turkish literature and idea world. Turkish music was the most sublime and influential branch of art that inspired the writing of Yahyâ Kemâl's poems. History, music and civilization in his poetry described the relationship. For Yahyâ Kemâl, music is not the sound of a culture of a civilization. At the same time, it is the aesthetics and essence of civilization. Turkish music has affected Yahyâ Kemâl so much; The names of the poems he wrote were directly related to music. In his poems, he composed composers, usûl’s, instruments, songs and songs belonging to Turkish music. There are about 60 composers who composed the poems of Yahyâ Kemâl. In this study: Source screening and analysis methods were used. For Yahyâ Kemal, music is one of the basic elements in the construction of civilization and culture.
