The Effect Of Women's Gender Perception On Attitudes Of Women's Work

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the effect of women's gender perception on attitudes of women's work. The study's universe consists of working and non-working women aged 18-65 living in Ankara. The sample of the study on which participation is based on volunteerism is composed of 500 women. 55.8% of the women participating in the study were single and 44.2% were married. Among the women, those who have undergraduate degree (46.2%) are in the first place. It is seen that 52.2% of the women are working (employer, manager, civil servant, worker) and 47.8% (housewife, unemployed) are not working. Women assess their monthly average income between very low and very high. Women evaluate their monthly average income between very low and very high. It was also found that 41% of women were unstable in this regard. 28.6% of the women stated that they had low, 24% high, 5% very low and 1.4% very high monthly income. According to the statistical analyzes, there is a meaningful difference between age, education level, income level and marital status and women's attitudes toward women's work. At the same time, from a women's point of view, gender perception has been found to be an important predictor of attitudes towards women's work.
