An Analysis On The Development Of Higher Education And Unemployment In Turkey

Abstract

Higher education institutions generally to meet the high level of qualified labor of society, to ensure directly transfer of cultures to from generation to generation and developing and adapting tecnology age with scientific research and present of great importance groups of the developing countries not to break on behalf of countries in terms of socie-economic returns. Through scientific research solving the community problems and although the development of higher education institutions is important for the realization of new inventions for the benefit of society, the transition of the people who are educated in these institutions to the business life after graduation is also very important in terms of unemployment and employment which are the basic indicators of the countries. When take over developments in higher education in Turkey has been continuously increasing the number of higher education institutions since 1933 and there are also increases in the number of students. Higher education institutions opened in this study (1933-2018) and the number of registered students (1983-2018) were analyzed with the help of tables and some development periods in higher education were put forward. In addition to this, as the main purpose of the study, the number of people who have higher education between 2000-2018 and unemployment figures were analyzed and the share of higher education in unemployment was evaluated and evaluations were made. According to the results of surveys on the basis of years, the institution resulting from higher education policies and on a student basis growth and especially economic contributions in particular in terms of regional development has been very high. However, there has been no significant increase in highly educated unemployment rates. It has been concluded that the quotas given to the pre-license and license units of the universities should be determined as a result of the studies to be coordinated with the demands of the employment areas.
