The Economic Impacts of Wars

AbstractThe wars have left deep traces in the economy of the country during and after the war, as well as social and psychological influences. The economic impact of the war is mainly the loss of labor. The immigration of skilled labor force to other nations and the decrease of the population due to injury and death cause the serious losses in the production and national income. The decline in production leads to inflation and black market, and the society faces difficulties in meeting their needs. In this period, the allocation of resources to army and defense needs leads to bottlenecks in meeting the resource needs of many sectors, especially basic consumer goods. With the war it is impossible to provide new means of production, to find credits, to continue to work against possible enemy attacks, and to increase production within the most favorable economic rantability norms.
