The Competence of The Faculties of Teology in Teaching Arabic as a Second Language: The Case of Karabuk University
AbstractIn general terms, how to teach a second language has been a subject of debates from past to present and various methods have been developed and implemented accordingly. The number of students studying at the Faculties of Theology in Turkey has increased considerably with the newly opened faculties and increased student quota. The methods used in the foreign language teaching were generally tested by experts of the subject for a long time. The methods that are used in teaching a second language are those methods which have been developed with the improvement of incomplete or inadequate sides of an accepted method. It has been observed that the efforts to perfect teaching methods generally help the teaching of a foreign language, especially Arabic. It is highly desirable in teaching Arabic in preparatory courses to use the teaching method that provides the student with the fastest and most reliable way learning Arabic. In this study, we will examine the method used in Arabic teaching in the Faculty of Theology of Karabük University under the title of “The Competence of the Facultıes of Teology in Teaching Arabic as a Second Language: The Case of Karabük University”.
