The Investigation of Mechanical Properties of DP 600 Cross Sheets Joint Using Resistance Spot Welding

Abstract—In this study, mechanical properties of resistance spot welded cross shaped DP 600 galvanized automotive sheets is investigated. The specimens are joined by resistance spot welding at different weld currents and times. Welded specimens are examined for their mechanical properties. In addition, the hardness change of the heat effected zone is examined. Stressstrain graphs are drawn for different welding currents and for welding times of 10, 20, 40 cycles. As a result of this study, optimum welding parameters are determined for DP 600 steel.
