Analysis of Accredited Laboratories in the Steel Sector in Turkey
AbstractAs a conformity assessment activity, testing is a crucial step in iron and steel industry. The characteristics and quality of the material are determined by the test. Manufacturers who manufacture in the sector and manufacturers who buy products make the acceptance of the material according to the results of the test. The reliability of test results is ensured through accreditation. In this study, the scope of the accredited laboratories in Turkey serving the iron and steel industry has been examined in detail. These results are compared with the same sector-based laboratories that are accredited in Germany. As a result, proposals have been made for future plans of test laboratories serving the iron and steel industry.
