Wear Improvement of The Industrial Fans Used at Steel Manufacturing

AbstractIn this study, at Kardemir Co. Inc., during the absorption of BOF gas with basic oxygen furnaces (BOF) in the steel production phase with high suction ID fan (Induced Draft), it was provided that wear of the ID fan blades was improved. At the end of the wear improvement work, the ID fan blades are plated with AISI 304L stainless steel to remove the wear on the ID fan blade wings. Briefly, improvement of the ID fan blades with the AISI 304L stainless steel, a decrease in the production stops time during the steel production phase with BOF so depending on the decrease, steel production has increased.
