Effect of Electrospinning Parameters On The Characterization of PCL/ MWCNT-COOH bionanocomposite fibers

Abstract

Compared with purely polymer, composite nanofiber scaffolds incorporating inorganic nanoparticles such as CaCO3, Fe3O4, carbon nanotube have attracted special attention because new properties can be obtained through the combination of different materials. Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), due to their extraordinary properties such as excellent mechanical, electrical and thermal properties, are one of the most promising candidates for the design of novel composite materials [1]. Design and development of advanced materials and tailoring their functionalities in biomedical applications is a great challenge [2]. There are a few limitations of electrospinning hindering the progress of these materials to practical applications. In terms of biomaterials aspects, the better understanding of controlled fabrication, properties and functioning of electrospun materials is required to overcome the limitations.
