A Kinetic Study for Artificially Aged AA6060 Alloy

Alptekin Kısasöz

Abstract

Abstract Aluminium alloys have been widely used owing to their lightness, specific strength, and corrosion resistance. AA6XXX aluminium alloy has Al, Mg and Si as main alloying elements and properties of the AA6XXX alloy can be improved with aging by the composed precipitates in the microstructure. Also, mechanical properties of the AA6XXX alloy differ with precipitate quantity and size. Thus, determining the kinetics of precipitate formation is important for aging process of aluminium alloys [1-6].
