Feminist Theory And Social Work Practice
AbstractFeminist social work practices have also accelerated, while negative developments contrary to human rights in Europe and increasing inequalities in conservative countries have increased the work of the social work profession. As a disadvantaged group, social work provides the necessary conditions for understanding and strengthening gender inequality towards women; it is closely related to individualization, participation, starting from where the individual and the tomb are, self-determination, human rights and social justice. It is seen that the basic concepts such as gender, patriarchy which feminist theory attracted attention constitute the components of feminist social work practice. Feminist social work practice stands in a very special place, aware of the stereotypes that women are passive and dependent on men, such as caregivers, spouses, and mothers, who are fit for traditional gender roles, and focus on understanding and strengthening the origins of oppression experienced by these stereotypes and women. In this article, feminist theory and feminist social service practice will be explained and a case study will be shared within the framework of feminist social work practice.
